I'm Mike and I've been a DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) since 2002.

I started my career as an instructor with brief spells with the AA driving school and BSM before starting and running the successful driving school CARKEY AND CLUTCH.

During this period I've had the pleasure of helping hundreds of people successfully through their driving test.

On your lessons you will be driving a
FORD FIESTA ZETEC SPORT 1.6 litre diesel.

The Ford Fiesta is now Britain's most popular driving school car.

The Zetec S is a high specification model with lots of extras including air conditioning (see pictures above).

You will be collected from your home or place of work etc, both parts of your driving licence will then be checked.

Your eyesight will also be checked.

You will be required to read the characters from a number plate from a distance of at least 20.5 meters.

Your previous driving experience if any will then be assessed, then your lesson will begin in a location suitable to your needs.

If you are a novice, you will be given an overview of the main controls of the car, what they are called, where they are, what they do and how and when to use them.

You will then drive the car under full instruction practicing moving off, steering and stopping.
